This chart
shows the increase in the number of homes per mile along
Wisconsin's lakes since the 1960's. Notice that there are
nearly 20 homes per mile on the largest of Wisconsin's lakes.
That's one home for every 300 feet!
If you are looking for privacy on the lake shore you should be
looking at the smaller lakes (under 100 acres). Smaller lakes
still offer some seclusion with an average of less than 10
homes per mile. Smaller lakes are more likely to remain
pristine and provide a safe, quiet and relaxing environment
where wildlife and human inhabitants can live side by side. |
